Premier Brass are one of the leading brass quintets in the South East of England. They perform a wide ranging repertoire of music from the Baroque music of Bach and Handel to the more popular music of Gershwin the Beatles and Queen with all styles in between.

Premier Brass are available for a wide variety of events from more formal recitals concerts music festivals and wedding ceremonies to background music for business luncheons dinners (including military mess dinners, mess dress can be worn for these functions), garden parties, receptions and product launches.

Premier Brass always try to accommodate any particular musical requests and having a professional arranger in the group means they are often able to arrange specific pieces of music for that special occasion.

WEDDING MUSIC BY PREMIER BRASS

The Ceremony
Whether in a church or at another venue Premier Brass can play fanfares and processional music for the arrival and entry of the bride. Many couples prefer well-known traditional pieces such as the Trumpet Voluntary, but they can play any specific pieces you may prefer. They will provide the accompaniment to your hymns, and also any music you may choose whilst you sign the register. At the end of your ceremony Premier Brass can play your choice of music for the exit of the bride and groom, followed by your guests. Again traditional music such as The Wedding March by Mendelssohn is very popular, but you may have your own ideas. If you are not sure what you might like they will be very happy to discuss repertoire with you. Premier Brass can also provide arrangements for any special piece of music.

If you think that a full brass quintet is not for you, Premier Brass can also supply you a solo trumpeter, brass duo, trio or quartet performing the music of your choice for your ceremony.

After The Ceremony
Premier Brass can play for your guests during your reception whether it be an informal drinks reception or a formal sit down dinner. They have an extensive repertoire list and can cater for all musical tastes and styles. They can provide for any musical requests that you may have.

Corporate Entertainment from Premier Brass
Premier Brass can supply a fanfare team for all occasions. Whether it is an awards ceremony, banquet or product launch our musicians can enhance your event and add to that ceremonial occasion. Our fanfare team can number two, three or four musicians and can appear in military dress, Dinner Jackets, or period costume. They can also provide lone trumpeters for Last Post and Reveille.
Premier Brass have provided the music for many corporate events including receptions, ground breaking ceremonies and product launches. Premier Brass can perform as a static group or as strolling players.

1st Trumpet - Pauline Fisher
Pauline Fisher grew up and was educated in the Fens of East Anglia where she played the cornet in local town and youth brass bands. She played in the National Youth Brass Band from the age of 14, and at 18 went to study at The Royal College of Music, London where she attained a G.R.S.M (Hons) & A.R.C.M (Teachers); she also studied Voice & Piano.
Shortly after leaving college she recorded the theme for the BBC’s Blackadder I series. This led to professional orchestral work in London & the South West with groups such as Glyndebourne Touring Opera & the Bournemouth Sinfonietta. Later she played for the West End show “The Hired Man” based on the book by Melvyn Bragg with music by Howard Goodall. Pauline currently works privately and for Kent Music School as a peripatetic brass and Kindermusik teacher whilst also pursuing her playing career as a freelance trumpet player with local orchestras, operatic societies and various chamber groups. She is also the worship band leader at her local parish church and has led workshops in the Rochester Diocese.

2nd Trumpet - Simon Gash
Simon started playing the cornet at the age of seven with the Salvation Army. He studied for a degree in music at Canterbury Christ Church University College, where he met Geoff and joined Premier Brass, attaining a BA Music (Hons) in 2001. He continued his studies under Christopher Deacon and Paul Max Edlin gaining an M Mus in 2002.
He plays with many orchestras and chamber groups within the south as well as performing as a soloist, including Copland's Quiet City (Cantemus Orchestra, Oct 2000), and Vivaldi's Concerto for Two trumpets (June 2002).
Simon has played with Premier Brass since 1999, and also plays piccolo trumpet, flugel horn and post horn within the group. He is also currently working for The Salvation Army Music Editorial Department.

French Horn - Nicola New
Nicola was born in Holland and brought up in Kent. She started playing the French horn aged 11 and later became the principal horn of both the Kent County Youth Orchestra and Kent Youth Chamber Orchestra. In 1998 Nicola became a horn scholar at the Royal College of Music studying with the horn professor Julian Baker, from where she graduated in July 2003 with a B Mus (Hons). She was also awarded the Fanny Hughes prize for horn performance in 2000.
Nicola has been teaching at the Kent Centre for Young Instrumentalists for some time as well as building a career as a player. Apart from her work in small ensembles, Nicola has also worked in chamber orchestras such as the New Professionals and working for opera productions, with Kentish Opera, Cameo Opera, Medway Opera and Opera Nova. This year Nicola toured with the Pegasus Opera Company performing Donizetti’s Love Potion. Nicola also plays for, and has recorded with, the Central Band of The Royal British Legion. Donald Logie from Scotland served in HM Royal Marines Band Service in Portsmouth for two years during which time he studied with Don Lusher.
Unfortunately, Donald was medically discharged following a serious car accident which left him blind in one eye. He then entered the Royal College of Music and is currently approaching his final year on the B Mus (Hons) course. He is studying Trombone with Peter Bassano and Euphonium with Andrew Fawbert.
Aside from his Premier Brass duties, Donald regularly appears all over England with bands such as The Central Band of The Royal British Legion Band on Principal Trombone (occasionally as soloist) and Zone One Brass Band on Principal Euphonium. Donald also enjoys regular freelance orchestral work in London and the South-East.

He performed the Concerto for Bass Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 2000 and premiered (Little) Fool in a Trance by Chris Matthew Haines in 2001.
He attained an ARCM in performance in 1998 and in 2002 graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University College with a BA Music (Hons).
