The Band
Premier Brass are one of the leading brass quintets in the South East of England. They perform a wide ranging repertoire of music from the Baroque music of Bach and Handel to the more popular music of Gershwin the Beatles and Queen with all styles in between.

Fanfare
Premier Brass can supply a fanfare team for all occasions. Whether it is to add that extra flourish to your wedding ceremony or for corporate awards ceremonies banquets or product launches their musicians can enhance your event and add to that ceremonial occasion. The fanfare team can number two, three or four musicians and can appear in military dress, a high standard of infantry mess dress (Premier Brass number several ex forces musicians in the group and so they are aware of military requirements), dinner jackets or period costume. They can also provide lone trumpeters for Bugle calls, Last Post and Reveille.

Premier Brass, in any format, are available for a wide variety of events from more formal recitals, concerts, music festivals and wedding ceremonies to background music for business luncheons, dinners (including military mess dinners, mess dress can be worn for these functions), garden parties, receptions and product launches.

Premier Brass always try to accommodate any particular musical requests and having a professional arranger in the group means they are often able to arrange specific pieces of music for that special occasion.

They perform indoors and outdoors and have there own lighting for candle lit events.

1st Trumpet - Pauline Fisher
Pauline Fisher grew up and was educated in the Fens of East Anglia where she played the cornet in local town and youth brass bands. She played in the National Youth Brass Band from the age of 14, and at 18 went to study at The Royal College of Music, London where she attained a G.R.S.M (Hons) & A.R.C.M (Teachers); she also studied Voice & Piano.
Shortly after leaving college she recorded the theme for the BBC’s Blackadder I series. This led to professional orchestral work in London & the South West with groups such as Glyndebourne Touring Opera & the Bournemouth Sinfonietta. Later she played for the West End show “The Hired Man” based on the book by Melvyn Bragg with music by Howard Goodall. Pauline currently works privately and for Kent Music School as a peripatetic brass and Kindermusik teacher whilst also pursuing her playing career as a freelance trumpet player with local orchestras, operatic societies and various chamber groups. She is also the worship band leader at her local parish church and has led workshops in the Rochester Diocese.

2nd Trumpet - Simon Gash
Simon started playing the cornet at the age of seven with the Salvation Army. He studied for a degree in music at Canterbury Christ Church University College, where he met Geoff and joined Premier Brass, attaining a BA Music (Hons) in 2001. He continued his studies under Christopher Deacon and Paul Max Edlin gaining an M Mus in 2002.
He plays with many orchestras and chamber groups within the south as well as performing as a soloist, including Copland's Quiet City (Cantemus Orchestra, Oct 2000), and Vivaldi's Concerto for Two trumpets (June 2002).
Simon has played with Premier Brass since 1999, and also plays piccolo trumpet, flugel horn and post horn within the group. He is also currently working for The Salvation Army Music Editorial Department.

French Horn - Nicola New
Nicola was born in Holland and brought up in Kent. She started playing the French horn aged 11 and later became the principal horn of both the Kent County Youth Orchestra and Kent Youth Chamber Orchestra. In 1998 Nicola became a horn scholar at the Royal College of Music studying with the horn professor Julian Baker, from where she graduated in July 2003 with a B Mus (Hons). She was also awarded the Fanny Hughes prize for horn performance in 2000.
Nicola has been teaching at the Kent Centre for Young Instrumentalists for some time as well as building a career as a player. Apart from her work in small ensembles, Nicola has also worked in chamber orchestras such as the New Professionals and working for opera productions, with Kentish Opera, Cameo Opera, Medway Opera and Opera Nova. This year Nicola toured with the Pegasus Opera Company performing Donizetti’s Love Potion. Nicola also plays for, and has recorded with, the Central Band of The Royal British Legion. She has also played with the Ventus Aura and Sirocco wind quintets.

Trombone - Donald Logie
Donald Logie from Scotland served in HM Royal Marines Band Service in Portsmouth for two years during which time he studied with Don Lusher.
Unfortunately, Donald was medically discharged following a serious car accident which left him blind in one eye. He then entered the Royal College of Music and is currently approaching his final year on the B Mus (Hons) course. He is studying Trombone with Peter Bassano and Euphonium with Andrew Fawbert.
Aside from his Premier Brass duties, Donald regularly appears all over England with bands such as The Central Band of The Royal British Legion Band on Principal Trombone (occasionally as soloist) and Zone One Brass Band on Principal Euphonium. Donald also enjoys regular freelance orchestral work in London and the South-East.

Tuba - Geoff Moore
Geoff served for six years with the Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers as a tuba player performing in the Trad Band, German Band, Fanfare Team and also as soloist. He then served a further four years with the Territorial Army.
He founded Premier Brass in 1995 after leaving the army, and travels around the country with the group performing at many events, both private and public. Geoff also freelances as a tuba player within chamber ensembles brass bands, jazz bands, Bavarian Bands and orchestras. He performed the Concerto for Bass Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 2000 and premiered (Little) Fool in a Trance by Chris Matthew Haines in 2001.
He attained an ARCM in performance in 1998 and in 2002 graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University College with a BA Music (Hons). As well as managing and performing with Premier Brass he also works as a peripatetic brass teacher within Kent Music School and privately and is the Musical Director of the Dulcet Choir.
