Persephone Duo is an enchanting flute and cello duo providing a stylish and sophisticated accompaniment to any event. Their extensive repertoire encompasses all the favourite classical works in addition to jazz swing and other popular classics. Ideal for ceremonies weddings social events or corporate functions.
Formed of professional soloists Persephone Duo's performances are of the highest quality adding prestige and sophistication to any occasion. The refreshing combination of flute and cello is highly desirable both to the eyes and the ears, and the duo's wealth of experience enables them the versatility to perform for all occasions, from grand formal events to more intimate gatherings. In addition to their appearances at private and corporate events, the duo has given prestigious recitals together in concert series' and festivals throughout the country. They have performed for numerous celebrity audiences, and have played to members of the royal family on several occasions.
Klio Blonz (flute) has performed both as a soloist and ensemble player in the UK, France, Bulgaria and Greece. She studied at the Paris Conservatoire, where she was awarded a Premier Prix at the U.C.E.M 92 flute competition, before gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance and a Master in Music Degree. She appears regularly with various chamber ensembles and has performed in venues such as St Martin-in-the-Fields, London, St James’s Piccadilly, Burgh House, Blackheath Halls and the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Rebecca Hewes (cello) studied at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated with first class honours in 2005. She regularly performs both as a soloist and chamber music player in the UK and abroad. She made her first concerto appearance at the age of seventeen performing the Elgar Cello Concerto, and has since appeared as a soloist with many orchestras in concerts throughout the UK and abroad. She has performed alongside eminent musicians in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall and St. John's Smith Square, London.

The wedding and the duo were wonderful, they played two great sets, the second of which up in the minstral gallery during the meal was stunning. Due to the nature of taking photos at the back then the front of the house, due to the light, the girls were left to their own devices for a while but coped admirably.
Please pass on our thanks to the duo, it was a great day, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.

When I heard them play I knew we'd made the right choice. They played the flower duet for me as I entered the hall to be married and it sounded so beautiful! They played for us and our guests while we had our photographs done and were fantastic. I would definately recommend this duo - they were worth every penny.
We have had many great comments on their performace from our guests and wanting to know where we'd found them from. We told them about alive network and how professional helpful and efficient they were in finding us this great band!
